Disinfecting Your Home or Business Against Coronavirus

Disinfecting Products

At Royal Renovations, we like to say, “When disaster strikes, we strike back”. This year, however, has hit us all with a problem never before seen in our country. The Coronavirus has left us all wondering what we should do, how we should prepare, and how we are going to clean up afterward.

Our company has heard a variation of the same question over and over as of late: Can a company like Royal Renovations help a business or homeowner disinfect and protect against COVID-19?

We’ve compiled the latest information to help navigate concerns and questions from our customers. We hope this article will help you better understand the best ways to disinfect and protect yourself against this pandemic.

The Big Question: Can I Hire a COVID-19 Clean-Up Service?

In short – you can, but we suggest doing your research before you hire.

Many people are searching for a service for hire to disinfect for them. This might be a business who has had a sick person on staff and is looking to disinfect their place of work, or a homeowner looking to protect their family against the disease.

Right now, at Royal Renovations we are working on putting our plan into place so we can be a resource for our community. COVID-19 is a disease that is quickly spread through person to person contact and there is currently no way to prevent it. We are seeing other restoration companies offering disinfecting services, but we want to remind our customers that these services are temporary. It just that there is no guarantee to completely disinfect COVID-19 at this time.

Imagine it this way: if you had mold growing in your home, we would gladly work to rid your home of any existing mold and help you make the proper home improvements that would prevent future mold growth. Now imagine mold wasn’t a problem of excess moisture, but something carried in by people – sometimes people who do not know they are carrying it. We might be able to clean up the mold, be we couldn’t protect against it and we certainly couldn’t prevent it from coming back.

So, What Should I Do in the Meantime?

The most important thing people can do is stick to the guidelines already in place by our government and the CDC. This means keeping social distancing regulations, washing your hands frequently, and staying home as much as possible.

The best way to disinfect your home is first to clean the surface the way you normally would with soap and water, then apply a disinfectant. The CDC offers plenty of COVID-19 prevention resources on its website regarding the correct practices and products to use and which work best on different surfaces.

Royal Renovations is committed to helping our customers with immediate professional service. Because of this, we deeply regret that there currently is no surefire way to disinfect against this disease. We hope to soon find a way to clean up and prevent the spread, but in the meantime, we urge our customers to stay safe and keep washing those hands!
